Bridge the Gap is a Stage One initiative that supports under-represented producers in the commercial theatre industry.

Stage One created Bridge the Gap to diversify the current field of theatre producers and therefore strongly encourages individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and outside of London to apply. We want to support people from a Global Majority background, who identify as working class or from a lower socio-economic background, are LGBTQIA+, those that have a disability and/or are neurodivergent and/or those from a culturally or religiously Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim or Sikh background.
Through The Producer Programme with Bridge The Gap we aim to support 10 emerging producers giving them the skills they need to make the next step in their producing careers through;
  • Monthly, bespoke workshops
  • A mentor
  • Personal coaching sessions
  • Regular catch ups with your peers and networking opprtunities
  • A place on the Stage One workshops
  • Access to the BTG Kick Start Grant (up to £5,000)
  • Tickets to shows

Bridge The Gap is the only year-long programme dedicated to training under-represented producers in commercial theatre.

If you are interested in applying, please read this Should I Apply? document first.

 “As a part of the Bridge The Gap programme I have met so many producers and been able to expand my network, which continues to grow.
I’ve been able to establish my company and its mission statement, beginning to move from the subsidised to the commercial sector with access to an amazing network through Stage One”
